Anat Baniel Method Practitioner
Mike Waefler has been lucky to study with some of the most innovative and recognized instructors in movement and manual therapy. Through initial training as a massage therapist he heard about the Feldenkrais Method as well as Rolfing, eventually studying and becoming one of only a handful of people world wide to be certified in both. Other educational inspirations and highlights have included Body-Mind Centering work with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, a number of craniosacral therapy classes with various schools, and exposure to Zen meditation through a number of teachers associated with Daihonzan Chozen-ji. In 2009 he met Anat Baniel and went through her entire curriculum. It was this experience which led to a greater interest in working with children. He has continued studying with Anat, initially going back to trainings in a support role, currently he is on staff as a teaching assistant for Anat Baniel Method International. He continues to find inspiration in the process of learning, both in the role of student as well as teacher. Helping people to improve their lives through that process is an incredible gift and privilege. When not on the road assisting in ABM programs he maintains a private practice outside of Atlanta, Georgia working with a varied population of children and adults, primarily dealing with neurological issues and/or chronic pain.
